Andrew Stronach: Combining Hooters with Meals-on-Wheels

Warning: Many of the links in this post would be flagged by office filters on the lookout for porn, gambling, and other inappropriate sites.

Andrew Stronach, the brother of Human Resources Minister Belinda Stronach, is developing a website called SheTips, in which you can call up beautiful women who will chat you up, then place bets for you on horse races.

Sort of a cross between Hooters and OTB.

The girls are appropriately called "runners", a term for a person who acts as an intermediary between a gambler and the gambling establishment, useful when the two are separated by a distance, but also as a means of circumventing laws that prohibit or heavily regulate gambling establishments in the gambler's location, or laws that prohibit a gambling establishment from accepting wagers except in person.

One of the features of SheTips is that regular customers earn points that can be cashed in.

What for?

Well, to have those same beautiful women come to your place, bring food and drink, and party with you.

Sort of a cross between Hooters and Meals-on-Wheels.

The site is called Spirits & Sports.

Essentially, with cash and points, you rent women for a party:

Every Spirits and Sports Event is different. Some will feature Big Screen Game Parties, some will feature Sports Contests or Tournaments, and some may even feature the hippest live bands. But what you can always count on at every Spirits and Sports Event are great times and lovely ladies. [emphasis added]

Now the site doesn't mention that providing entertainment at a party in a private residence, but then it doesn't not say it would provide such a service.

I suppose that would depend on whether drinks were being provided and having a liquour license.

So who do you call to have these women come to your place to party?

If you live out west, call Tami Tyson, a centrefold model.

If you live in the Toronto area (or anywhere in the Eastern US and Canada), call Gord Scoular. Now he's a guy who knows how to party!

Not only does he organize the parties, he is also the representative to talk to if you are a young woman who thinks being a party girl for hire is a good career move.

Can you trust Gord Scoular to be able to see your obvious, uhm, qualifications, for the job? Oh yeah, I think so. Gord Scoular makes it his business to spot female qualifications:

CALLING ALL CANADIAN BEAUTIES--OPEN CASTING

Acceptable forms of ID include: passport, driver's license, birth certificate, social security card or school ID. All young ladies should bring a bikini, a sweater and a pair of high heels. Please direct any questions or inquiries to Gord Scoular at 905-709-8120 or check the website for more details: www.playboyse.com.

That phone number ending in 8120? Guess what. It's the same number listed at Spirits and Sports to use to contact him to arrange for female entertainment through Andrew Stronach's company.

Want to be a party girl on call? Want to hire a party girl? It's one stop shopping.

How convenient. Seems like Andrew Stronach has thought of everything when he came up with this idea and registered the domain:

Registrant:
Sports & Spirits Productions Inc.
14875 Bayview Avenue
Aurora, Ontario L3G 4G8
CA

Now here's an interesting parallel. When Belinda Stronach crossed the floor in the spring, betraying both her party and her boyfriend for a shiny cabinet post, a provincial parliamentarian, Progressive Conservative Bob Runciman of Ontario, said, "She sort of defined herself as something of a dipstick, an attractive one, but still a dipstick."

Federal Liberal MP Judy Sgro responded: "I think it's important that we try to raise the level of discourse and debate and they shouldn't be reduced to the kinds of throw away comments that people are clearly using last night and this morning. So I would call on Mr. Harper to apologize to Ms. Stronach and to women of Canada and ask his colleagues to very much do the same so that we can try and restore some level of respect and discussion here in Ottawa."

So Federal Conservative leader Stephen Harper was supposed to apologize to all women who might have felt demeaned by the words and actions of a person who was not a member of his caucus, not a member of his party, nor even a sitting member of the federal parliament.

By that standard, should Judy Sgro, the former immigration minister who lost her portfolio over a scandal involving a Romanian strippper getting favourable immigration treatment allegedly because hers was a required skill, demand an apology from Belinda Stronach for how her brother treats women as party favours to be moved from party to party using their physical attributes to entertain strange drunken men? Isn't this company's service demeaning as well?

If Sgro doesn't demand that apology, she would seem to me to be holding Stephen Harper to a higher standard than Belinda Stronach. Stephen Harper is responsible for the words of some parliamentarian somewhere in the country who is not even in his party. But Belinda Stronach doesn't have to say anything about a company registered by her brother at the same address as Belinda's own short-lived enterprise in 1999 to produce a fashion television program.

A bit more consistency, please.

But then since Judy Sgro might have helped some of those girls get their papers, what with the government having categorized the ability of young women to entertain men with their bodies being a critical skill set and all that, maybe I'm asking the wrong person.

Of course, Belinda does enjoy dancing on tables.

[And like sister site SheTips, Spirits and Sports supports the Special Olympics.]
