From It comes in pints?:
She's starting to irritate me (and other people) even more than the average left-leaning knee-jerk Hate-Bushies. Apparently, she's starting to irritate her own family, too.Right Wing Death Babe Melanie Morgan at KSFO receive a statement from the family this morning, in response to a condolence letter she had sent in response to... well, you get the picture. Melanie was kind enough to forward it to me to help get it moving in the blogosphere to counter all the fawning attention Sheehan's little vigil in Crawford is generating in the general media. The email is from Cherie Quarterolo, who is speaking for the family and is Casey Sheehan's godmother. The email, with the statement contained, follows:
Hello again Melanie,Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks – Cherie
In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue:
Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
I'm pinging a number of people on this in hopes the statement will be widely distributed among bloggers, as Cherie requests. I have absolute faith that the Old Media will ignore it.
UPDATE: Welcome, KSFO readers...er...listeners! Many thanks to Mel for the mention on the air and on the website!
Sounds like what I was saying (assuming the letter is legitimate).
I await the "You monster!" comments...
Update: I got in touch with the radio station KSFO and Melanie Morgan, and she sent me the original email trail which includes the material quoted above. Melanie Morgan is a journalist out of San Francisco:
She moved to the Bay Area in 1981 and began working for KGO television as a free-lance reporter. It wasn't long before KGO Radio recognized Melanie's outstanding news and reporting ability. Her talents were fully realized when she stepped forward to spend three weeks in Beirut, Lebanon covering the conflict of that war-ravaged country. She received several awards for excellence in news reporting for her on-air reports from Lebanon.
So for now, I'm going with legitimate -- Ms. Morgan has a reputation to protect. As for the Cindy Sheehan brigade:
Their loss is in no way the same as Cindy Sheehan's so if they disagree with her, they should do so quietly, not publicly. However, this whole letter is way too suspicious to be taken seriously. Smells of BS to me.[response] it's BS... if it were true they would sign their names. PERIOD
Idiot, it's an email.
So the logic is that since Casey's extended family, including grandparents, don't agree with Cindy's public political activities, their grief is less valid, should be private, and is probably just a fake anyway.
