Prime Minister Paul Martin and Tim Murphy, his chief of staff, will be part of an investigation into the Grewal tape incident, says Ethics Commissioner Bernard Shapiro.

Murphy won't be the formal target of the inquiry, but he will be looked at, Shapiro told a fractious meeting of the Commons ethics committee.

Shapiro said his inquiry will focus on Tory MP Gurmant Grewal, Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh and the prime minister.

Things just got a lot more complicated.
